Sometimes, obstacles in life prevent us from being able to progress emotionally in a way in which we would like. I believe that in order to feel in control of our psychological wellbeing we need to be able to understand and develop our relationship with ourselves in a way that enables us to feel safe and secure and be still and at peace within our thoughts without feeling uncertain, frightened or ashamed. At times we can carry guilt and anger and, as these feelings manifest we can become stuck.
Embarking on a therapeutic journey provides a space to think, to speak, to feel and to be heard. Therapy provides you with autonomy in your space to hear your words, experience your feelings and begin your own independent journey to a more fulfilled and resilient existence.
Although exploring inner thoughts and feelings can be overwhelming when you are already experiencing a sense of confusion and possibly uncertainty, I would hope to create a safe confidential space where together we can better understand and change unhelpful patterns of behaviour and thought processes, in order to develop a deeper, calmer, more meaningful sense of self and connection with past experiences in your conscious and unconscious.
By having a deeper understanding of our past we can hopefully identify with a future we choose to create.
