In the therapy sessions you and I will focus on your experience of the here and now, how you relate to others, the world around you and how this impacts you. We then together draw on past experiences and relationships and look at how your patterns of behaviour can be explored and adapted to help you feel more at ease.
I understand emotional obstacles in life can prevent you from being able to progress mentally in a way in which we would like. This can also impact on you physically as you are of course all one. I believe that in order for you to feel in control of your psychological wellbeing you need to be able to understand and develop your relationship with yourself in a way that enables you to feel safe within your thoughts without feeling uncertain, frightened or ashamed.
At times we can carry guilt and anger and, as these feelings manifest we can become stuck.
When you embark on the therapeutic journey I will provide a space for you to think, to speak, to feel and to be heard. Therapy gives you autonomy and confidence when you hear your words, experience your feelings and begin your own independent journey to a more fulfilled and resilient existence.
Although exploring inner thoughts and feelings can be overwhelming when you are already experiencing a sense of confusion and possibly uncertainty, I would would create a safe confidential space where together we can better understand and change unhelpful patterns of behaviour and thought processes, in order to develop a deeper, calmer, more meaningful sense of self and connection with past experiences in your conscious and unconscious.
By having a deeper understanding of our past we can identify with a future we choose to create.
Prioritising your mental health and well being should be at the top of your "to do" list!
